Hi,

We have a newish Grant Vortex Combi 26e and are slightly concerned, from an economy point of view, that the burner fires up regularly when no request is being made for hot water or heating.

I understand that it may be wanting to keep a reserve of hot water in case I turn a tap on BUT it's regular firing up is keeping our utility room pretty warm, even with the window open.

Is this normal or should I be taking some action?

Many thanks!

stick a timer on the HW side for day time running only to save a bit otherwise it is just maintaining the temp of the water tank
