My miele washing machine has two red lights flashing:

    1, check drain
    2, check inlet

Which doesnt allow the washing machine to work now.
Drained out the water from the bottom left hatch area found a 5p piece and a button in there.
Switched back on the washing machine and still kept flashing with the above two things in red.

    Any help would be appreciated

All you can do is check water is getting to the machine & no filters blocked.
Also check that the pump isn't jammed with something else as you already had a 5p & a button in the pump filter.
The Miele machines weigh a ton, so not an easy task to move it.
Other than the above, I would suggest unless you are very knowledgeable at electrical machinery, then get a good washing machine engineer to sort it - some out there are not expensive. A Miele engineer would be best - these machines are nowadays basically computers.

I really appreciate that thanks, soon as i get some free time hopefully tomorrow i will give it ago with a few checks etc. I just dont want my mum and dad to get ripped off by anyone so i thought i would give it ago myself as much as i could. I have seen on the net that there are allot of people who have had the same issue and come say that taking the face plate off and checking if the wires are connected to the pump or not could be causing it?

    Anymore help is much appreciated.

Why the automatic assumption that everyone is out there to rip you off?

What you might deem expensive usually isn't. You're not only paying his wage but also his overheads which could include insurances, training, trade association membership, licenses, tools, vehicle running costs and so on.

Cheaper guys won't have these. They're the ones likely to cost you more in parts.

Shop around, get call out charges off a few appliance repair guys and then make you decision.

Mile good units . Service engineers all very good. I would be assuming that the impeller on the pump is blocked - near where you found the 5p. Use something and not your fingers to check it's free!

And don't go poking around with the electric switched on

Thanks people for the advice, also croppie, the automatic assumption is because my mum and dad have been ripped off in the past so im dont mind paying for the cost of the engineer or an official engineer to come out etc that is not a issue the issue is i know theres allot of cowboys out there and i rather keep away from that i dont even mind calling miele direct in order for them to get an engineer out as my original plan was just to buy a new miele washing machine but my mum and dad told me not to do that and to try and fix it or get it fixed, so i came on here trying to get some advice for myself so that i can have a go at it and if i do not get no joy then calling an engineer is the option and if it works out that its going to cost quite abit i rather just buy a new machine. But i would like to fault find myself before i call anyone. Thanks again though apreciate it

Just make sure the pump impeller is able to spin freely.
Check if its plumbed in under the sink that it isnt bunged up with congealed wash power and fluff etc.
Try disconnecting the long grey hose and blowing down it.

If the pump wont spin with your little finger theres a problem.
The pumps are easy to whip off if your a basic diy'er
It will either be made by askol or plaset and have a one-way edge connector with two wires.
Replacement will cost about a ten to twenty from a local indy.

    Usual safety things apply.
Ensure it us unplugged and detached from the electricity supply if you are going to have a look at the pump.

Update- i thought i would give it ago today, so i started moving the wahing machine and it does weigh allot. Once i was moving it i could hear water inside somwhere below the drum. So i managed to get the machine out enough so that i could tilt it forward and see if that water would come out and it did quite abit. I was nit expecting that to be honest but now it seems to be working fine and the lights have gone off (touchwood). As i had the 5p and the button out of there it probsbly kept the water that never got drained due to the fault code and due to the 5p and button (i think) but fingers crossed its fine so far on the first wash after draining the excess water.

One thing i would like to say is im a newbie on here and i never expected the amount of help i got in such a quick time so thanks all. Also hopfully the machine is ok now but if it is not then i will report back here and fault find with theabove advice given from you guys.

One thing some meiles have is a timed pump.
If it doesnt empty within a set time and it detects the pressure switch still hasnt reset.
    It will fault.

This can also occur with a restriction in the drain hose.
It could well pump out at a reduced rate but still not fast enough to satisfy the control.

If thats the case remove and clean drainage hose side.
Have you lost any kiddies socks lol
