Was wondering if anyone could help me out a little here where possible. I have an interview for an Apprentice Service Repair Engineer with Worcester Bosch and don't really know what to expect with it. Thanks to anyone who can help me out a little.

Is it just the boiler side or will you be working across the whole range ? Do you know what their product range is ? What renewable / green products do they offer? What is the company history etc. Know thy enemy (or in this case your possible future employer).
Good luck !!

This is copy and pasted from the actual Application Vacancy.

"The successful candidate will be completing general gas maintenance such as central heating, energy efficiency, heat pumps, renewable heat. Natural Gas & LPG - Liquid Petroleum Gas. Combustion tester, boilers and systems. Photovoltaic and solar panels."

Cheers for any help mate.

Do you know what all the ones in bold are ? (as well as the others) Why do you think you will be suited to both the plumbing & electrical work, what skills do you think will be required to be a good engineer in this role ? Start finding out & writing it all down.

Got an idea on some so far. Been doing some revising and stuff cause I'm new to anything to do with plumbing. Thanks a lot helped me out here.

The iPhone is your friend. Any iffy questions ask to be excused for a toilet break and get googling :)

Hahah good idea. Try to prepare now whilst I've got a week or 2

If you haven't already, have a really good read of their website, product catalogues etc. Know their product range (as Chris has already suggested above), and have some intelligent questions ready about where they see themselves going in the next 5, 10, 25 years - what products will they be pushing. For that matter, you have some answers ready, as well - where do you see the industry going? With the oil supply running out, how do you think the heating industry will have to change?

Never really thought to ask anything like that but will definitely look into all of what you just said. Watching some videos at the minute on how certain boilers are installed etc to get my head around what generally happens with it all. Thanks Masood

If you want to embarass them ask them if their C.H.P packages are selling yet.

Maybe you need to look uop C.H.P first.

Is that something to do with the combine heat and power? Got a lot to look into haha

The Worcester Bosch team is massive now, years gone by it was like one big family, everybody knew everybody else, lots of them socialised together, and they supported each other in everything, the whole set up was very close knit, therefore the training, team building and work ethic was second to none, that is where there reputation came from, all working together, these days is a lot different and some of it shows, I still believe though, that their training and customer service is one of, if not the best, they will be impressed if you have done your homework, show manners and reasonable literacy, and are genuinely interested in working for them, and they WILL ask why you want to work for WB group.

I only just lately realised they did apprenticeships but it seems like the best so far to me for the training etc. Just try my hardest before hand on getting to know as much information and see how it goes in the interview (hopefully well). Cheers everyone!

Tell them you know me, you will be in......seriously go on their web site and suck as much in as you can, especially the 50 th anniversary stuff, their heritage is very important to them, if you see Kerry tell she owes me loads of beer too!

I don't actually know who'll be interviewing just know I have to go to the place where the interview is being held and ask for the Area Service Manager. But yeah will tell her if I see her haha.
