Just wanted to say hi and to thank everyone for the invaluable advice and knowledge that I have gained from reading the posts in this forum.

I have a part-pumped gravity-fed hot water heating system running off my woodburner in my little cottage up in Scotland. It heats more hot water than we can use and runs 6 radiators heating every room in the house ( except the one containing the stove, which is well warm enough... )

It's been running smoothly and warmly since it was fitted six months ago. We are very very happy with it. It's fairly cheap to run as we have a free wood source :) only really costs me my time...

I got most of the materials (apart from a TMV and about 10 mtrs of 22mm copper pipe) from the local reclamation/recycle yard or from my local freecycle group, including the woodburner. Altogether I expect the whole system has cost me less than £200 :D

I did it all myself and everytime I found myself scratching my head this was the place I came to read up and get advice. I've yet to encounter a problem that someone else hasn't had already...

I like to reduce, re-use, and recycle as much as i can, - even information ! :)

That's my water and heating sorted... next thing I wanna tackle is free electric. Wish me luck :)

Glad to be part of this forum. Looking forward to extending my education even further.

Thanks again

Seva
