Having problems with above mentioned thermostat. Been running with no issues for 10 years. A jumper fell out today from the back of the control unit, and I must've replaced it incorrectly as when I opened the receiver later on to troubleshoot, I saw that they weren't corresponding. I only realised there was a problem when the house started getting cold and I saw the receiver was not picking up the signal.

I first removed the front panel on the receiver and moved the hidden power switch to off and when I switched it on again the red power light failed to come on again afterwards. It is now completely dead.

Is this terminal, or is there some sort of reset procedure needed? Any help greatly appreciated, or I'm sleeping cold tonight.

read the instructions to match the jumper to the rx/thermostat, they will be online

dont need heating under a duvet, just add a blanket or two, go green

My question is why there is no mains power to the receiver. I understand about the jumpers.

blown fuse or blown the pcb inside, need to use a circuit tester to check whats wrong.

Is there a fuse in that unit? I couldn't see anything that was accessible.
Is it possible to buy the receiver on it's own?

Assuming you cant use a multimeter or you would know the answer ,why are you playing with something you can't test, potentially at the risk of electrocution

I'm well aware of the hazards of mains electricity, thanks. And I also know where the mains fuse is located.
No multi meter to hand at present. Is there any way to override the receiver without rewiring the whole main wiring box?

And can anyone recommend a good replacement to Salus?

EPH controls or danfoss do good replacements, however as you cant test for reverse polarity or earth resistance i would be careful, not trying to put you down but quite a few people have died through lack of knowledge or the lack of or understanding of how to correctly use a multimeter

Point taken. Thanks for your help, guys.

I bought a new receiver only to find out it is incompatible with the old transmitter (poor information from Salus). Until I receive a compatible receiver, I have left the incompatible one connected in order to allow me to use the heating on "override" mode.

However for some reason, the boiler will not come on for hot water when the heating is off. The hot water symbol will show on the boiler screen, but it will fail to power up. I am a but stumped as I thought the heating and hot water are separate functions. Is there a problem with the motorised valve, or is this issue cropping up because of the incompatible thermostat? When heating is activated, I can hear the activation of the valve and the sliding lever on the valve is loose all the way.

FYI, boiler is a Vaillant Ecotec plus 624, and controller is a Honeywell ST9400C Programmer

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
