the benefit of using smart screen is that it is just like a mock practice on line of taking the gola exams, that is the point.
The answers to the questions that you seem so much in need of ( from this thread and others ) are in your jtl book and what you cover at college. when you sit the actual tests there are always going to be questions that you did not cover, that you have not memorised. 2 answers out of 4 are usually silly anyway. researching the complete subject rather than being given all the answers is what you need to do.

if you want to earn that £50k all plumbers are on you will have to put that little effort in jtl book

50K :)
I'm revising hard honestly can somebody help me out with these questions
14) A I THINK
15) B I THINK

14An anti-gravity valve would be fitted in a
a)pipeline where air was being drawn into a system
b)vent pipe on a fully vented system
c)cold feed pipe to stop water backing up
d)pipeline in which unwanted circulation was occurring.

15Which one of the following components would be strapped to a hot water storagecylinder?
a)Programmer.
b)Motorised valve.
c)Automatic air release.
d)Thermostat.

Back to the revising me thinks!

whitch type of boiler requires cold water storage cistern, feed and expansion cistern and hot water storage vessel?
Back boiler
condensation
combi
room-heating

i would go with back boiler what do you think

Please could somebody help me out with the questions below i have Bold in the right answer i think

Inan indirect system of heating and hot water, which includes a cold waterstorage cistern and a feed and expansion cistern

a)the water level in the feed and expansion cistern should be below that of thecold water storage cistern
b)the two cisterns bases should be at equal level
c)the water level in the feed and expansion cistern should be above that of thecold waterstorage cistern
d) the water levels in the two cisternsshould be equal.

2The connection of an open vent pipe and a cold feed pipe, can be made to afully pumped
systemusing
a)an automatic air vent
b)an injector tee
c) an air separator
d) adiverter valve.

3Which of the following is regarded as best practice when branching a large newradiator circuit into an existing heating circuit in cold weather?

a)Drain the system down as the first action.
b)Branch into the pipework before fitting the radiators.
c) Install the new radiators and pipework runsbefore branching in.
d)Install the radiators, branch into the pipework and install the new pipework.

4When fully draining down a heating system

a)all the air vents should be closed
b)the open vent pipe should be capped
c) the air vents should be opened
d)the radiator valves should be closed.

5 Tosatisfy regulations, the controls required for a fully pumped heating system(hot water priority) using a zone valve arrangement, consists of

a)two number 2 position diverter valves, time clock, cylinder thermostat, roomthermostat
b) 3port valve, programmer, room thermostat, cylinder thermostat, TRVs
c) 2 port valve, time clock, roomthermostat, cylinder thermostat, TRVs
d) 2port valve, room thermostat, cylinder thermostat.

6The cold water supply to a fully pumped open vented central heating systemshould beisolated at the

a)stop valve to the incoming cold water supply pipework
b)fullway valve on the cold feed pipework from the F & E cistern
c)service valve to the float operated valve to the CWS cistern
d) service valve to the float operated valveto the F & E cistern.

7 Onan open vented fully pumped system, positioning the pump between the cold feedand vent would

a)mean installing a three port motorised valve on the primary flow
b)increase the efficiency of the central heating system
c) result in water pumping over the ventto the F & E cistern
d)result in water pumping over the vent to the CWS cistern.

1. incorrect
2. yes
3. incorrect
4. yes
5. incorrect
6. yes
7. yes

you're getting better but still need to do some reading

this 1 should it be

hi again

The most efficient way of draining a single radiator when removing it from the first floor of a dwelling is to:

1 Isolate the valve and drain down the radiator or

drain down the system as far as the first floor

question 2 answer: Isolate the valve and drain down the radiator

question 1 answer:
and the water level in the feed and expansion cistern should be below that of the cold water
storage cistern

Hello everybody

I wanted to know as I am currently working towards 6129 Basic Plumbing Studies Level 2 full-time. I have been told that I can do the 6129 Domestic Plumbing Studies Level 3 full-time 1 year in September. When I have completed that and as there is a new qualification coming soon diploma 6189 - will I still be able to achieve 6089 NVQ Mechanical Engineering Services in Plumbing or will i do 6189 NVQ and will i be allowed to do that ! example 6129 and 6189 diploma :/

thank you

Hi everybody again,
Slightly unsure about two questions
Firstly, which one of the following gas boiler overcomes theneed for a cold water storage cistern, feed and expansion cistern and hot waterstorage vessels?
I am going with combinationboiler
Or Back boiler
Secondly, Why should a radiator be situated above a skirtingboard
I am going with Toallow the radiator to convert heat
Or to allow room for the vacuum cleaner

mo, dont want to pee on your bonfire and every credit for looking through your books and learning but do you know why for instance the water level in an f&e cistern should be below that of your CWSC?

Hello everybody
Is there anbody who is registered onto Smartscreen. C&G 6129 Technical Certificate in Basic Plumbing Studies Level 2. Because I really need the practice sample papers for Enviromentall Awareness & Effective Working Relation.

Thank you

Mo

Don't want to be rude, but are you considering the C&G Level 3?

If so, do you think a pre-study course would assist you? i.e. itmay assist with some study skills etc.

Good luck mate

Hello everybody

I've got my Sainitation exam tomorrow - need some help answering these questions below: Thank you

The required positions of rainwater pipes on a new building, can be indentified in the

1) Building Plan with undeground drainage systems details
2) Building specification with building material specifications
3) Plumbing specification with plumbing material specification
4) Work programme showing the different dwellings under construction

Which one of the following is a type of gutter pattern?

1) Mansard
2) Half round
3) Half channel
4) Elsan

An existing stainless steel sink has a 40mm sink drainer outlet, 40mm waste discharge pipe, 15mm cold water supply pipe direct from the mains, and a 15mm hot supply from a hot water storage cylinder. Which one of the following would be necessary if a food waste disposal unit is to be installed?

1) Increase the size of the waste discharge pipe to 50mm
2) Alter the cold supply to a cistern fed arrangement.
3) Increase the hot supply to 22mm
4) Change the sainless steel sink

Would these be correct if any wrong please help!

Number 2 then would definetly be 2) Half round

And the rest ''possibly'' ?

Cheers

2) Alter the cold supply to a cistern fed arrangement.

AND
3) Plumbing specification with plumbing material specification

2. no
3. no

one more chance lol

Change the sainless steel sink

Building Plan with undeground drainage systems details

Because of the stainless steel diameter
Because Building Plan Document H deals with the positioning of rainwater system etc..

1. correct you need a bigger diameter opening for the waste disposal unit.
2. correct

final question

the fitting that should be used at the termination of a soil and vent pipe is a

a guarded bend
stright coupling
wire or plastic mesh cage
stand off pipe fastening

It's got to be guarded bend
