A friend mine had a corgi man round for his 3-year inspection
This man was like the Gestapo, he made him seal off the gas meter because it was ½ bar high on the standing pressure, the gaps in the vents were ½ mm to small although there was more the necessary he wound not accept these He went into one because the cooker was only turn off at a gas tap waiting for the manufactures to return to try mend it again it’s a six burner cooker that needs three people to move, the man has lost the plot, he’s obviously has problems at home and take them out on this poor guy
this was all in the main house he only put a new boiler in the granny flat all this lot was existing

Sounds like he was just enforcing the rules.

Are you sure it was the standing pressure that was too high and not the working at the meter? Also are you sure it was 1/2 bar and not 1/2 mbar?

If the air vent was not correct then your "friend" should have noticed it before inviting Mr Corgi round for the inspection.

If the cooker was not safe to be used it should have been isolated from the gas supply until it could be returned to a safe condition.

Existing or not as responsible person your "friend" should have checked these things before the inspector came round.

granny flat or not. it is one building one gas supply! therefore one set of regs! if your 'friend' cant get it right he shouldnt be doing gas. could be worse tho if it was ID and he requested to isolate all your gas would be off! did you check your 'friend' on the corgi website? when will the public get it thru their thick heads?

He had probably just been notified by Capita that they weren't going to offer him a job!

yeah but your 'friend' needed this visit- the regs are there for a reason- one can only guess what the standard of work has been for those last three years....
