Hi,

I have attached a link to a video of my storage tank filling, is there a different filler I can use to allow a faster flow of water as our shower pumps water faster than it can fill. Upgrading to a larger tank would be a massive headache! I have removed the pipe to the filler and it has enough pressure/flow to fill much faster so the filler is restricting too much.

Many Thanks!

I would turn the mains off and strip the valve normally there some rubbish on / inside the cone / flow seat

Either the washer has gone brittle and isn't flexing enough.
Or the float valve seat (white plastic Orifice) is partly blocked.
Or both the above.

It's simpler to buy a complete new valve.

Hi, thanks for the replies, I definitely want to replace it, can anyone recommend a good high flow one? quite hard to find online!

Any brass part two will be fine

Bit over the top but put a 3/4 ball valve in it , but upsize your overflow pipe if you do ..

Gosh this OP seems to be using the forum as a step by step guide to plumbing judging by all his threads since yesterday!:)

Am I ok to post multiple threads? I am just a DIY'ER seeking the best possible advice?

A few more posts and we will forward our bank details .

Regards to the ball valve , you will have ordered a half inch , that should be fine asuming your pressure and flow is ok a 3/4 will simply let more water in but its not generally what you do .

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
