Hi
I wonder if you could help me
I am trying to replace stop valve on a crosswater mixer valve. It has 85mm long shaft and seats deep inside of a chrome plated tube so I can not reach it with a spanner. I did try to undo it with a 17mm box spanner. The spanner is not strong enough, looses shape and spins. I tried to find extra deep ratchet socket on the internet but they are not deep enough ( needs at least 85-90mm)
Could you suggest where to buy such socket or recommend better tool?
TIA, Cheers

Halfords do a socket set with no center it can accommodate any length of tread . I have one in van. Think it's about £65?

Good shout erm, I find Halfords quite expensive nowadays though, another brand is Teng tools but don`t know if they do the no centre ratchets though.

Thank you Ermintrude,

The problem is that the valve seats in 50-60mm deep chrome plated tube I can not remove

Long reach sockets are better for mounting monobloc mixers as you can use a ratchet to tighten them and add extensions as needed.

Hi guys. I'm trying to identify a toilet model before ordering a seat for a customer. I went to what used to be a Roca stockist (they no longer are) and one of the guys there reckoned it might be "The Gap". I went to the new stockist and the guy there disagreed it was "The Gap" and that he'd...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
