Totally off topic but I guess there are a few people on here who have personalised number plates on their car or van?
I am not judging anyone here, or saying anyone should or shouldn't have one, I am just interested in your reason for buying one.
(I do not have one, yet!)
Please be honest with your answer.

Never bothered myself, never been a priority at all for me. That said, how other people spend their cash is up to them!!

Looks really eye catching if relevant to your business and on your van.
Pimlico have some good plates on their vans.
Other than that it is a waste of money IMO. Most of them I can't work out what they are supposed to spell.
I do like short number/letters on a number plate on a decent car I must admit.

I guess, what people try do is to show off with their cars, pretending they own it but in most cases half of the bank owns it. Do you r.eally think all those 20-30years old guys could afford a car which is 30-40k worth, surely not. In my opinion I would not care much about a private number plate or not. I would invest my money towards something else

IMO, save your money and spend it on some nice clear graphics for your van so it acts as a nice advert for your business wherever you go and wherever you are working.

One good point about a personalised number plate is you only have to pay a once only payment for it. So not as expensive as it appears if you are going to use it to help advertise your business. I know I find my eyes drawn to the number plate on vans and if it relates to the company title or job description, then it certainly registers in my head, so definitely can be a good advert.
One bad point about having a personalised number is your vehicle will be spotted everywhere you go or park, including places you don't want folk knowing about. ;)
