I have to reconnect some 22mm copper to a section of grey 22mm polypipe fitted with Hepworth grey screw connectors with rubber o ring and plastic grab rings. All of the fittings have worked for over 10 years and still seem good. Acorn Engineering still sell them but I'll have to order and I'd like to get the job done yesterday. There is a final section of polypipe which will be a real pain to replace so I'd like to connect to this. Are there any easily available alternatives which will fit it? here's a pic:
Interesting you say SS inserts I spoke to Polypipe about this and they said plastic or SS inserts with compression
I now use the hp2o with the ridged inserts but still tend to use PP Tube as it still seems the most pliable
Thanks everyone. I was just checking the viability of other products as there's quite a bit of noise about incompatibility between different manufacturers. There's also a fair bit of complaining about Hep joints failing a week or more after the installation. I've had these particular ones in place for over 10 years without problems but there are a number of people on this site who refuse to touch them. The bloke downstairs has just had a new bathroom done so I really don't wanna flood it just yet!
All plastic push it work on 15 and 22 pipes, it's the inserts that are important. You need to use the pipe manufacturers inserts for there pipe, then use whatever fitting you can get.
Just don't use new hep inserts without hep fittings as the have a shaped end and on speedfit dont use the inserts with the o rings with other fittings Rd
