My PI is up for renewal, for past few years had it with Gladitor and am paying just under £30 which I don't think is a bad price.

Just seeing if anyone know's of any better deals, also currently don't have tool insurance but looking into to be honest - my van got stolen last year and it cost me a fair few quid to replace the tools

    Thanks

I paid about £300 for the year as a one off payment, that seems to be about the going rate.
but then put it up another £100 to have a lad work with me on a part time basis. that is with corgi.

just to add :- that is 2million cover with £1000 tool cover

If you are looking round the only one I know of is Corgi, they strictly insure plumbers I think.

+1 to Corgi, cheapest at the moment and gives extras that others don't.

Have a look at insurantz £218 and £2k tool insurance for me (2m pi)

I'd like to recall my previous response.

I looked at Insurantz as recommended above and they quoted me £192 or £16 per month. Which I thought was very good.

And on top of that I get £50 cashback on the Insurantz policy bringing it down to £142 or 11.82 per month.

This is for a £2,000,000 policy with £1,000 tools.

Corgi quoted a best price of around £256.

Anz glad you got a good price. ( I only take 10% commission lol ) Insurantz kept the premium the same for me this year as last yearso you might find they do them same for you

    you must be joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mine came out at £600---twice as much as my renewal and i aint even completed the detail, sod that.

No, I'm not. I'm just waiting for my cashback to be confirmed now.

I will say that after reading the policies, I felt that the Corgi one was better overall. I thought it was more tailored to this trade, and might have covered more. If it were only £50 difference I would have gone with Corgi. I didn't want to pay 80% more though.

Might be a bit late for the above conversation, but I got mine through Tradesman Saver underwritten by Henry Seymour. £2m public liability and £2500 tools inc unattended vehicle cover, £100,000 free legal assistance, £10,000 of financial loss cover, £5000 business contents cover all for £127.58.
Admittedly the excess for third party damage to property is £500, but hopefully I'd only need it if I'd made a proper sized booboo and would need to claim more than £500 anyway.
My father-in-law is an ex MD of an insurance firm so I got him to look over the policy documentation and it's all kosher. Not sure how they can do it when everyone else is around the £400 mark and upwards, but hey, who cares!!
