hello guys,

I need your brain for a second. Do i need to install an automatic bypass external of the Vaillant ecotec exclusive 627 IQ ?

It has an built in bypass and don’t see a reason to install another one below the boiler before the 2 zone valves.

Could anyone give me an idea or a help ?

Attached there are the Mis ... does anyone know whether of it’s written that I need one or not? https://www.vaillant.co.uk/download...e-green-iq-1/ecotec-exclusive-627-1060717.pdf

No as there's no zone valves as it's a system boiler

Are you fitting an external pump?
No external pump. I just got a help from Shaun too. So all is sorted on my end at the moment. I was always under the impression to install an automatic bypass but some people say you fine without. I just wanted to double check what people do in here in England.

What is the answer Ron- Bypass or no bypass?

What is different about the IQ system to the standard System?

Do t need the bypass as I already got a built in one. Furthermore the iq boiler doesn’t need any zone valves and comp, coated wiring no more. It’s similar designed like a combination boiler which has the flow for C.H. gas , return for C.H. , Flor to the cylinder and return to the cylinder ... it’s a Great boiler to be fair.

One thing I don’t understand why plumbing’s regs say you need an expansion vessel for the unvented cylinder ... makes no sense to me because of stagnant water. If the pressure is too high the prv will open ... but to install an exp. vessel for portable water I don’t think it should be done this way. Don’t see the point of it.

I don’t know if it’s true, I was told this many years ago.... in the good old US, they have unvented cylinder without expansion vessels, as the water is heated it’s allowed to weep out and down to the drains continuously as it’s heated.

Sounds efficient :D

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but don’t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
