purging
A Plea for Purging was a Christian metalcore band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. During their time active, they released four full-length albums on Facedown Records and two EPs. Their final release, The Life & Death of A Plea for Purging, reached No. 24 on the US Billboard Rock Albums chart and No. 11 on the Heatseekers chart. Guitarist Blake Martin played on Project 86's record, Wait for the Siren and was a touring member for Haste the Day. Drummer Aaron Eckermann was a touring musician for Corpus Christi. Vocalist Andy Atkins was featured on The Crimson Armada's song "Composed of Stone", from their album Conviction.
When carrying out a non domestic purge-with nitrogen and test etc is the requirement for 2 equally qualified engineers both to have their non domestic testing and purging.
Always told on the courses this is a requirement but cant find this written in regs
Hello could someone lead me the right direction. im new into this industry and still learning on the course.
Just wanted to ask that when it comes to purging on domestics.
Let say you have already done a let - by ,tightness test before doing any work on gas and it has passed.
your job is to...
First off I'm not a gas engineer but a fire engineer. I've just had a bit of a problem on a job where the main incoming solenoid valve had been left off but the heaters on the site where then turned on or well where tried to be. They called in a Gas company who found the problem.
But they are...
I have a job where I need to run 30 metres of 28 mm and 10 metres of 22mm copper tube. Now there is no gas hob in the place so I need to light the gas while purging. What right do you guys make up in this scenario. Cheers
Im just trying to dig up a reference to this....now due to the small volumes of typical domestic installations we would usually purge by relighting an appliance or using an appropriate fitting.
Obviously UP1/1A are the relevant docs for larger installations but is there actual quoted procedure...
Been asked to do a commercial gas purge and test on an installation . Normally its our own stuff.
Dont know what to charge for this service ??
35m of pipe dont know if its 35 or 50mm yet
Any help?:confused5:
Hi all. If a inset gas fire is the furthest appliance from the meter what's the correct method for purging if the joints before the appliance are soldered? Obviously the idea is to crack a union but if there are no unions near to the appliance what is the correct method?
evening all ...not sure weather u can answer my question as its a gas related 1,, but ill give it ago.

Does anyone know of any (cheaper) intrinsically safe Gas seekers other than a gasco. Needed for TPCP1A purging.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Especially with all the love for the Testo and TPI gas leak seekers in the recent thread which as far as I can see don't measure LEL LFL % and/or...
Hi, I was in doing my commercial change over from domestic. And the lecturer had a software program where you could just enter the meters of pipework and which meter and it would do all the calculations for you. It was based on a spreadsheet, anyone got any ideas what it was called?
Thanks sam
What do you use? I do quite a bit of catering work but not enough yet to justify purchasing a turbine meter at around £700.
it shows this example on bes.co.uk with a standard diaphragm meter but don't you have to monitor the velocity in real time or is it acceptable to calculate afterwards?
Hello,
I am just looking for some advice on commercial gas work, I've worked on domestic systems for a few years but have recently started servicing commercial plaque heaters for the company I work for. I've done my commercial tickets, boosters, t&p 1, t&p 1A, commercial changeover, radiant...

Just reading through one of my gas books which explains how to calculate a purge on pipework over 28mm.
now a standard purge can be just vented to a ventillated room (0.01m3) but a purge of over 0.02m3 need to be continually ignited and burnt off until a stable flame is achieved
what i cant...
Hi, im new here, im currently working towards my acs. Ive been practicing my purge calculations, ive been fine with them, but when it comes to checking the volume pass through whilst purging i need some clarification.
ok here goes
meter purge volume is 5 times badge capacity 5 x 0.071 =...
Hi there,
i am really struggling to work out the proper procedure for working out the purge volume for a G4 gas meter. The badge capacity is 6 m3/h, viper book doesn't mention G3 meter but it says to multiply the badge capcity by 5 and use this, but that would be 30m3/h but where do i go from...
Hello all, I'm currently studying for my initial ASC assessment and was wondering if any of you fellas can help me with a niggling issue I have re purging. I know all the claculation methods for volume etc, but on the actual process my tutor taught that you open the furthest point on the...
Anyone know where I might be able to hire a purge stack etc? I have a < 1m3 system to purge and as this is my first commercial purge (other than in training!) I don't feel too inclined to go out and buy all the kit in one fell swoop.
The job is in the south west.

Hi guys, i have just read a book today which suggests that you do not need to do any calculations on domestic systems when purging. You just purge 0.035 m3. Is this correct?
Cheers

Anyone know where purge stack/venting pump can be obtained at more sensible prices than those charged by BES? Certainly the stack BES sells is very nice but the components used in it don't come to a quarter of the £800 they are asking!
