An input method (or input method editor, commonly abbreviated IME) is an operating system component or program that enables users to generate characters not natively available on their input devices by using sequences of characters (or mouse operations) that are natively available on their input devices. Using an input method is usually necessary for languages that have more graphemes than there are keys on the keyboard.
For instance, on the computer, this allows the user of Latin keyboards to input Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indic characters. On hand-held devices, it enables the user to type on the numeric keypad to enter Latin alphabet characters (or any other alphabet characters) or touch a screen display to input text. On some operating systems, an input method is also used to define the behaviour of the dead keys.

Hi,
Just started doing my gas course and we went through on my course the calc for gas rates and working out heat input etc.
I have just done a gas rate on my hob and it seems there is a discrepancy of 1 between my reading and the MI. Assuming the heat input figure in the MI is always in...
We fit a few Vaillant Ecofit Pure system boilers, usually the case when an old Heat Only boiler goes and we replace with a system rather leaving OV, better all round solution. Ecofits are great as they're rear flues and fit in cupboards.
So when replacing we usually replace like for like in...

It’s have a new valiant system boiler installed in the past couple of years but the rest of the system is fairly mature. DHW is via an invented cylinder, I’d like to improve hot water pressure to am looking at options.
We have a couple of...
Hello all!
Seeking opinions/advice on how to handle an idea from a client of mine, I wonder if anyone else has come across this before?
One important caveat: My primary discipline is as a gas safe engineer! I am NOT a "dyed in the wool" plumber of many years experience, so please be gentle &...
I am dealing with a boss that has no mechanical background and a coworker that considers himself to a mechanical God which is leading me to have some concerns about a piping system that they have installed. It consists of some fluid tanks that have overflow drainage leading to a pipe that runs...
Hi all,
This is my first post here. How do you do?
I was wondering if anyone may have ideas on this issue. We're just trying to connect a washing machine to an under-sink water pipe valve, and we're finding a strange behaviour.
With the washing machine on, when the valve is partially open...
Hi
First thread so hopefully I am in the right place. I will try to give all the information as best I can, however please request more details if this request is lacking.
We bought a house about 4 years ago from a plumber. It contains the following heating inputs.
A 16kw boiler stove
A...
Just wondering what other engineers views are with regard to checking the heat input and burner pressure on landlord safety inspections.
The guidance tells us to verify the heat input and/or operating pressure of the appliance, however in a lot of cases the actual appliance kw data is not to...
Hi Guys been learning input rates on cookers this week in college and I'm surprised at how many cookers failed.
The cookers in college are not even a year old and out of 6 cookers 5 of them failed.
its probably because they are used everyday and stripped down and tested etc.
but in a...
hi,
IF appliance data plate/installation manual says HEAT INPUT - "35 KW" then what should we consider kw as a GROSS or NET? I got two different answer . My college instructor says GROSS and my mentor says NET.

i have an estate agent on my books, one of those small 2 man band types. he is a good chap and i get quite a lot of bread n butter repair work (all of it) from him so all is well, nice chap too.
he has used someone else in the past doing cp12's for around ÂŁ35 a pop but he wants to do away with...
Evening everyone, i've been asked to fit some underfloor heating, approx 800 square metres over 4 floors . I work on the basis of 100watt per m2 for working out heat load, so that works out to be 80kw load. Now that seems to be a massive heat input for a dwelling, but just like electricians work...

I have a gas meter in my kitchen wall cupboard. I'd like to have it moved as far up the wall as possible.
I reckon that the gas mains with its stopcock/emergency valve could stay in the same position as there seems to be some slack in the flexible metal hose which runs from the stopcock to...
