Default Isolating Electric shower

I have a customer with a Mira electric shower on the wall over the bath (hollow stud wall), the shower is mounted straight onto the plaster work and I need to take it off to tile behind it which is a fairly straight foward job as long as I take into account the thickness of the tiles.
I'm not starting the job for a week yet but I can't find the fuse box in the house, the only 'box' the customer knows of is in the pantry but all thats in there is the meter and an old style mains on/off switch but no consumer unit or fuse box.
I know this isn't an electrical forum but why cant myself, the customer and her brother find any kind of fuses/contact breakers anywhere in the house?

P.S the box in the pantry is an old black box with a single rocker switch - nothing else.
What is supplying the high current electric shower?

the black box with the rocker switch has it got a box sticking out of it that looks like its screwed on with 1 screw if it has the fuses are under that. the only other way (risky) is to make sure the shower is turned of at the switch and tape the switch up with a note on it DO NOT USE, if its a pull cord tape the cord to the ceiling, when you remove the cover off the shower use a circuit tester and make sure there is no power getting to the shower if its ok then remove the shower put a block connector on the wires and tape them up so you can not get to them by accident, when your putting the shower back test the wires again to make sure there safe to to reinstall the shower,

PS By rights the shower should have an RCD fuse box to run off and the rest of the house should be on an rcd box i would recommend the house be rewired if the box is that old then the wiring is

Uug,
The black box with the swich does not have any kind of other box on it (I know the ones you mean).
The shower was fitted by a proper electrician and the lady has given me his number so I'll ring him tomorrow.
There must be some sort of fuse box somewhere in the house but we opened every cupboard and looked in every nook and cranney, we even asked the neighbours and they had one where it should be.
