Default water is coming up plug hole!

a relly of mine rang me the other day & said when they run the taps in the basin the bath plug hole brings up water!
i thought the pipes was blocked so we cleaned them out now he's rang earlier to say its worse since we cleaned out pipes!
have i missed something really obvious?? i did notice the bath tub is low to ground, possible the pipes not high enuff off ground???

the two pipes are linked and i think you will find the water is trying to flow up to the out side pipe causing it to back flow in to the bath re-do the pipes with the correct fall and you should solve the problem

Yes if there floor boards you may be able to run the pipes under them that would be the best option

how long has the set up been running for without a problem?
if its just started recently then there must be a blockage or fault?
