As the title says, sometimes my boiler turns it self off when it goes to zero pressure which happens quite a lot so I re- pressurise & comes back on all fine (heating & hot water). When the heating or hot water is on, small drops of water comes out of the overflow.

Also when I have restarted the boiler & the heating is on for awhile I'll go in the loft & the boiler has turned itself off with zero pressure but still overflowing.

It sometimes drips from the bottom of the boiler when heating is on.

Lastly I have bleed all the rads in the house.

I'm wondering if it's the pump?

Feedback would be appreciated
Sam

No not the pump I would say you have a leak somewhere on your system that's why the pressure is dropping

Do you know the make and model of your boiler ?

Well the overflow is dripping & I can't see where the water is dripping from within the boiler

Any chance of a pic of the pipe that's dripping?

Ahhh man wish I could but I'm at work till tomorrow. As soon as I get home I'll take a picture for you. You got an idea roughly why it could be leaking pressure? My boiler was loosing pressure before it started leaking from the bottom

Depends where it's coming from tbh the easiest way would be to call a gas safe engy on Monday

That's the annoying thing I have done but made it worse because after he fiddled about, boiler now goes to zero & leaks from the bottom which it didn't do before he came

That's the problem these days finding a good gas safe engy if you don't mind where are you located roughly

Haha. It's a tricky 1 as the gas engy is a family friend but lives 40mins away & doesn't want to be going backwards & forwards with the wrong parts. So he said to me that I need to get hold of Worcester to see if they know what the problem is & he'll fix it but I bet they wouldn't know or tell me over the phone/email till they've got their own engy out to have a look

They do a fixed price repair ;) might be worth looking into if you can't get anyone locally

You need to get a GSRI to check your boiler and repair and sevice it regards kop.

I am just as qualified as any other gas safe person as I am gas safe registered but my post was deleted as I haven't posted 10 posts, when did not posting 10 posts make you an unsafe gas installer ?

If your friend is Gas Safe and knows what he is doing he would know exactly what parts to bring with him from the faults you are describing. I would find another fitter if I were you.

Worcester came out to sort it out & he said it was the PRV that was the problem, change that & a few other things. Now working normal again. Thanks for all your help everyone

Ta for the update
