Re: hole saw kits
The Bosch hole saws are great, they seem to last a lot better than the cheapy ones as well.

Re: hole saw kits
Bosch or Starret at a minimum.
The cheapo ones are ok if you are going through soft stuff, ie plasterboard fascia etc.
Try one a worktop or astracast sink, and it will have less teeth left than Shane Macgowan!!

Re: hole saw kits
I have recently upgraded from a toolstation jobbie to a rothenburger set and have been suitably impressed.

Re: hole saw kits
I recently bought the Bosch set which has a quick change function and it's brilliant. I used the 50mm one on a cast iron gutter to cut an outlet and it went through it no problem and still remained sharp and usable. The Bosch carbide hole saws are the best in my opinion.

Re: hole saw kits
For drilling stone this is the PORSADRILL all in one system, for granite, marble, stone, glass, tiles, porcelain, travertine, pottery, slate.

Sizes accept all gas pipes (22mm and 28mm) copper 15mm pipes, 40mm and 32mm waste outlets.
Plus a selection of cores for 6mm and 8mm rawl plugs

Packs are marked out with what the cores do, and full instructions on the back of the pack.

Only works in STONE
Does not work on steel
Does not work on wood
Does not work on plasticLast edited by 365drills; 20-08-2012 at 05:30 PM.

Re: hole saw kits
I have a tendency to just buy the sizes I need and a couple of arbors. I'd like some more suited to metal with more and finer teeth but haven't found any that suited yet.

Re: hole saw kits
The Lenox brand are real good quality, you need to keep dipping them in cutting oil if you are to be drilling through metal girders etc.
