RSS Feeder

I have a washing machine in my kitchen. I want to move into another room downstairs with a downstairs toilet alread fitted in the room i want to put my washing machine. The only water inlet pipe is the one for the toilet. Can i cut into the cold water pipe that connects to the toilet and run a pipe to my washing machine?the washing machine only takes cold water. (it heats the water as necessary) Would it be safe and normal to do what i want to do? It would save me having to continue the original pipe from the kitchen through two walls into the room with downstairs toilet in. I would also have a serparate cut off tap for the washing machine. Can anybody see any reason why i cannot do what i want to do?thanks for reading!For extra information: There is no other source of water in the room apart from the toilet. There is no sink. There is a drain outside that i intend to run an outlet from the machine through the wall to the outside drain. All i need to know is it safe for me to use the same water inlet as the toilet? (of course the outlet for the toilet is a serparate issue as is all toilets!)

Yes, it's perfectly OK and safe to tee off the wc supply, and breaks no water regulations. But as a precautionary measure I would fit a valve/connector to the washing machine that has a built-in checkvalve. They're only a little bit dearer than the regular connectors, and would ensure that no backflow could occur into the mains supply. This is just me being fussy though, and is NOT mandatory!
