I have just bought and fitted an outside tap. It was a self cutting one!! So i fitted it all fine and screwed on the self cutting tap to my cold water copper pipe under my sink. Only to find out that it leaked...after closer inspection i found out that the leak was comming from the self cutting tap. So my only choice was to take it off....doing this i found that there was no washer inside (obviously the problem causing the leak) so took it back were i bought it and got a replacement washer.... Now i have i BIG problem. The copper pipe that the self cutter went into in the first place is welded to other pipes at both ends, ive tried to aline the self cutter to the original hole but its impossible!! So now im stuck with a hole in the copper pipe and the self cutter still off! What can i do? (do not want to fork out for prof plumber) Is there any other way to seal the original hole and making a new one other than cutting the copper pipe and welding a new piece on??Ive had to turn the water off so we've no running cold water, which means no loo flush, no kettle etc etc and i think the wife is going to throttle me if i don't sort it soon!! * ¬ * ~~~
