Default sewage smell undrt kitchen sink

hi guys, sewage smell coming from under kitchen sink. There is plumbing for a washing machine which joins the sink trap(full of water) so seal is there and an upstand for the dishwasher which was also full of water. they are all joined by a two inch pipe into the stack. All said appliances are constantly in use. Any ideas? Smell is not always there possibly more so in the morning?

Sounds like you have a small leak somewhere. when im called out to stuff like this i fill the basin up with hot water and run it a few times to see. could even be the smallest of leaks and almost invisible.

Could be from your washing machine drainage pipe. if it going into its own trap take it off and clean it out, if it goes into a spike and into the sink trap tighten a jubilee clip around it.

Also check to see if you have any old clothes or old spillages from cleaning products, stuff like that can smell funny after a while.

Are there any leaks, could it be that the seal has broken, does it happen when both appliances are running (as there running into the same waste). Size of waste is struggling when both wastes emptying at the same time? Appliances running late at night? Hence problem in the morning Is this a recent problem or has it been getting steadily worse?

I would suggest taking off both traps and giving them a good clean. If one of the wastes is partly blocked it may be sucking the water out of the other one.

I had one the other day, quite a long run but there was no fall it ran parallel to the floor, a couple of pipe clips job done.

AAAAhhhh! I know what I want to explain but having difficulty, long day

Just a thought but would cold water be the cause??(as it goes stagnent in unit?)

Check that the grey waste pipe from your washing machine is secured at a suitable height iaw with the washing machine manual. If the pipe has dropped stagnating water may be retained within the machine.
