Red face radiator thermostats

hi,

Can anyone help me with the following. I cannot seem to get my Radiator Thermostat working. When I put the Honeywell white with black top button onto the valve , and turn it to cold, the radiator still stays hot. What have I done wrong?

Bill

they are old valves that you are talking about, maybe worth replacing.

Is the Thermostat fitted to the correct side of the rad?

shouldn't matter as even the old Honeywell trv's are reverse flow

I don't know this TRV but usually if a TRV is not fully screwed or clipped home, then turning it to 'cold' will not push in the pin fully and so will let hot water by.

Cheers,
