Cheaper alternatives to commercial sensor activated WC valves for domestic instals?
I am getting asked this more and more - especially when you consider the emergence of: electric "remote control" showers, sensor operated lighting etc.
Instead of the standard pneumatic flush valves - I wondered if there are affordable domestic alternatives to the commercially available "remote operated flush valves" or the expensive "sensor" type controls that can be fitted to activate built in WC cisterns?
Electronic Toilet Flush Valve's seem so unafordable for your average customer - surely there are cheaper domestic alternatives?

Only really any good if you're going to be encasing the cistern. The control unit contains a wee compressor which, when activated by waving your hand in front of the sensor or by wearing a hi vis within 30 feet, sends air down the tube to the flush mechanism, inflating a wee balloon and activating the flush. You need room for the control box an a fused switched spur.
Nice gimmick when they work, pain in the bum when they go wrong. Google a company called Lobill.Last edited by croppie; 31-08-2012 at 10:43 PM.

Contact cistermiser, they are specialists in this. I use their products a lot and they are a decent company to deal with. At the very least they will point you in the right direction.
