Default Pressure Gauge not responding to refill

Hi all, could you please, please help. The pressure gauge on my Vaillant 828 boiler stays put at 0.2 bar despite re-filling. That is, the needle does not rise with rising water pressure. The question is: Is it the pressure gauge itself which is faulty or something else on the system ? AND if I should need to replace the pressure gauge how I should go about doing so ? What steps must I be taking ? Regards, wizarssaleem.

thanks for the prompt reply. The boiler is 4 years old and has been and still working perfectly despite displaying a very low reading.i tend to think that there is sufficient water hence enough pressure for the boiler to be working normally. Its just that the guage has stopped responding to the refilling.as a test i performed a measuerable refill to force up the guage needle but to no effect.however to be on the safe sode , i did subsequently drain out the excessive water to prevent any possible built up of high pressure inside the boiler. The boiler does refill and does work but guage does not. Any further thoughts, please?
    With regards.

guage is broken. replace it. fairly simple job. isolate boiler. release pressure. change.

    good luck

I would think the most likely cause is a blockage in the capillary to the gauge. I've had this a few times in the past. It's worth checking the system water as it may be getting sludged up.

Agree with Mike about blockage, this usually occurs at the point were the Gauge capillary pipe joins the main block of the boiler, you do not say make of boiler however drain boiler,unscrew/pull out capillary pipe and clean out end with a pin also clean out opening capillary pipe fits into
