How to make a "Stopper" for shower drain?? Advice needed

Hi guys,

Great suggestions by a fellow member but unfortunately I'd rather not dig everything up again.

I'm now trying to make a stopper for the drain so I can block it off when not using the shower and then removed it when needed (it's a guest shower so not used very often).

I have no plumbing experience whatsoever so would like some advice on what materials I need and how can I go about making the stopper. I attached a photo of the drain (apologies to the grime... didn't realise how dirty if was in there!). It's a bit awkward as the drain is on the side.

I would still fit a hepvo. It stops smells and water coming back up your pipe work even if your trap dryers out as it is a guests shower and it conforms to regs.

yeah, a hepvo would be ideal but do you think I'll be able to fit one through the drain?

If your going to rip it up any way then yeh why not.

no, as per my original post, I'd rather not rip everything up... The shower tray has been tiled over so to remove that I'd have to tear down the wall tiles as well.
