    I use them.

On basins for example but in a way they cannot be seen unless you get right under, I never use them on toilets apart from the closed back ones where you have no choice.

I use them on baths sometimes, full bore type if gravity.
All sorts of mono basin taps come with them anyway.

I use them but for speed alone. I don't buy the suggestion they look better than copper (as has been made here previously) and I don't think they look professional. I never feel proud of the part of the job that uses a flexi. But it's quick, it looks acceptible in 99% of people's eyes and if installed properly I'm not especially worried about them.

I wouldn't use them in my own place - not for fear of bursts but because I'd normally have time to take my time. I'm getting faster and faster as time goes on and use copper in more and more places that I previously used flexi's. So hopefully before too long they'll be a rarity.

I've already said I use them. I would say admitted I use them, but that would imply I should be ashamed of myself for using them.

They're time savers and despite the stories I've heard on here of them popping off, bursting, or harboring legionella disease....I've fitted loads and loads, and not had a single issue.

I lie, one issue. A pipe froze in a property last year that was left empty and the flexi to the basin was the part that went. The crimped part separated from the push fit. Wasn't a big deal as the property was a wreck and the basin had just been attached for the contractors to wash their hands in.

I know System3 will think I'm a loser, but tell the truth and shame the devil!

Should add, I also use copper, and chrome plated copper (if rising up to a loo I will often use plated copper as it looks better). But I'm not anti anything that is proven, and flexi hoses are proven. There are millions of them out there across the developed world. If they were that crap, they just wouldn't be there.

Danny I love 'em! Faffing about under a bath with your head jammed between the basin and the bath is no fun. Quick and easy. Don't think I'd use them on show if I could help it but they have their uses.

You know what though, virtually all colleges are teaching the use of flexies. Something I never thought about, they are liked not only for speed but apparently they aid in preventing excessive back siphonage because they will actually collapse in a vacuum. I had never thought of this but I can see the train of thought.

They have their uses if you don't abuse them, its the folk who use the really long ones and pig tail them round up to a cistern or use them underfloors and up to rads that are giving them a bad name.

When doing a bathroom the customer wants you to be quick, I genuinly don't think they care whether you use them or not, I'd rather put the saved time into something else in the room.

Braided hosing is only used by amateurs ... oh yeah, and NASA
    NasaKennedy-68.jpg
and every motorised race machine on the planet, and me on my 200+bhp nitrous drag bike
    205729_10150233965347774_2702105_n.jpg
and by every car and bike manufacturer in the world.

Hmm, actually, quite a lot of people use the stuff in situations just a little more extreme, and life threatening, than your average plumbing job. I wonder if the problem isn't the hosing after all but the way it's used/fitted..?
