    Default General question?

Is there a reason why nobody is willing to give me a chance at wilting for them, for free? All I need to complete my nvq 2 is one bathroom refit. Ive completed my 6129 level 2 and 2 exams away from level 3 completion. Don't understand why ppl are turning away a free pair of hands? Would there be a specific reason?

If you only have 1 bathroom to do you have already done the majority of the work for the NVQ.
Can you not complete with whoever has signed of your previous work?
Could you try getting the job and calling someone in to help and sign off your work?
even though you are willing to work for nothing, the reality is that depending on the work being done the job might take the same amount of time.

In reality it will probably take longer as you need to supervise an unknown if you are going to put your name to it.

It's most likely a combination of things. Not wanting to help out local competition, not wanting to be slowed down on work, not wanting to risk having someone working on your jobs you didn't train up. All of these factors become more worrying to tradesemen when work is scarce during a recession.

There will be different reasons for different folk. You wouldn't be covered on my insurance if anything went wrong, so that's why I would never offer someone the chance to tag along with me, but other people have other reasons too.

You are a man u fan as well which is never a good thing Lol

Willing to pay my own insurance, can't do the suite with the company I have done all of my other nvq work with as they have folded. I have completed all sections of file apart from the installation. I'm from Manchester. Pretty sure that's all questions asked. Yes I am a man utd fan why couldn't u lot help us out yesterday against the dirty blues lol

We can't even help ourselves at the moment never mind helping out another side :-)

Have you tried phoning round your local plumbers and fitters to see if they need a hand.

Or you could just go to your local plumb centre first thing in the morning and ask the plumbers as they come in, I'm sure you'll find someone who needs a hand or has been let down.

    Best of luck

    Tom

If you're asking people to help you finish your nvq that might be off-putting. Say you've got plumbing experience and quals and looking to shadow someone / help out after your employer folded. then bring up nvq when your foot's in the door.
