Question leaking auto air vent valve

If water leaking from the top(red cap) of the auto air vent is the air vent valve is faulty or somthing elss is wrong with heating/hot water system?

Generally muck on the seating of the AAV. Can be symptomatic of corrosion problems in the system.

so, would you say I should open the AAV and give it a good clean and then run some system cleaner to get rid of all the crap?

Check the condition of the rest of the system before using system cleaner. No point if it's just a random bit of muck.
