Red face Check your tutor's qualification's!!!

Hi, Has anyone on these courses ever asked to see their tutor's qualification's ? I wonder how many of you have paid out about £5000 or more and have not asked to see the tutor's qualification's! And I would bet that if you have, no one has actually checked with the issuers to see if they are right! How about asking what company's your tutor's have worked for and for how long, and what made them go in to teaching? Perfectly reasonable question's to someone that is involved in taking a lot of money off you for training that can be achieved for a lot less money if done properly! Also has anyone starting out on one of these courses ever bothered to contact the company that they have a guaranteed job with at the end, and asked them about your new job you will be starting with them?
Why oh why do people just take what they are told by someone in a suit as truth! Remember that a interview is a two way thing and you are just as entitled to ask them question's about what your spending your hard earned cash on as they are to make you feel privileged to be given a chance to gain a qualification, that is of no use to you in getting a job in the plumbing industry unless your going to be self employed! Once you've completed your course and your hopefully working as a plumber in the big wide world, your customer's will ask you load's of question's about why it's going to cost them so much and what there money is being spent on!!!

you cannot assess plumbing unles you are qualified and have at least 5 years post qualification experience. C&G wouldnt release quals if this wasnt the case. so no need to ask, if they are working for a training provider they are more than just qualified plumbers but assessors as well, this is another stand alone qual

sorry buster

Fuzzy, You have just reinforced the point I was making! Because someone tells you it's right does not make it so! We know what is supposed to happen! But if you don't check these things out how will you know? We all know of company's that bend the rule's. For instance, when it comes to signing off gas work. A local company near me had 11 gas fitters but only 2 were registered and most customer's only ever see 1 worker at a visit? So either 2 of them was very busy and 9 sat on their backside's or something funny was going on. And when it was investigated they were found to have been breaking the law for year's and getting away with because no one questioned them!
The point I'm trying to make is that a company that will spin lie's about what you can hope to achieve from one of these course's and is willing to take your leg's off to pay for it, is not the type of company to be trusted when they tell you that ALL of it's trainer's, tutor's, teacher's, lecturer's and examiner's are fully qualified! What you are saying is what I would hope to hear but how can these people signing up for these course's be sure if they don't ask! It only takes one person's signature on document's who is fully qualified to do so to make everything seam O.K.

It's can't do no harm to check!

no it cannot do harm to check buster, its just that there are checks already in plac by the awarding body. i wouldnt expect any problems or they would be shut down by the awarding body
