Re: Dont get too excited !
mehera I have to say I really don't like the attitude,
I think I understand where your coming from but at the end of the day the plumbing industry is where it is not because of fast track courses but because of apprenticships.
On saying that though I really do feel the day of the apprenticeship is almost dead, can everyone who has done a full plumbing apprenticeship really tell me that they got paid good wages, where taught well and where kept on when they finshed there 4 years?
Its a sad fact that most of the building industry is happy to take on apprenticships pay crap wages and let them go when there time is done.
Case in point is my a family memeber of mine he completed his time as a carpenter turned 18 and was let go, You really cant tell me everyone who completes there time will get kept on.
This forum is here to provide us with insights into the plumbing industry and how plumbing works but as I have said before if the only way you can be a "real" anything is to serve an apprenticeship then there are millions of people out there who can never be a "real" anything in there chossen job because they never done an apprenticship.
I am doing a course that will take 2 years and I want it to give me a start into the plumbing industry but at my age 31 there is no one that would take me on as an apprentice so I am forced to take on the course route.
So Mehera I think we should be happy with the knowladge a lot of good plumbers are willing to give us and keep the questions and answers more to helping one another out instead of just forum flamming
