there are courses gov funded, but these are at colleges and not training providers.

training centres are not ofsted inspected, if they used gov money they would have to be

So how much is this? And how come they don't mention a price on the site, or when on the phone?

how much is what jason? the courses at private training providers differs but seems to be around 4k. at a college it would depend on your circumstances, could be up to 1k but most people wuld get money off and only have to pay about 150quid

I was referring to the course. I'm 16, and was considering BTSC, but if it costs 4k -- then I think I'll leave it.

Smile Re: BTSC catch?

I went for an interview at BTSC M'cr yesterday, Lots of others did as well (approx 60 people ) interviewer was clear & upfront about all costs etc. He has just phoned to offer me a place & said they'd picked a group of twelve to start, so at least 40 applicants aren't successfull. I got 100% on the aptitude test , but that's not saying much. Don't know whether to take the plunge yet....if there's a job for me in 22 months then can't go wrong.. or else get your refund of £8000 fees & still fully qualified! Seems a fair deal to me... How are you M'cr trainees getting on now ?

Probably the 12 they picked are the ones who didnt faint at the £8000 fees. Cant see these people turning anyone away, why would they, and to also say that to potential trainees smacks of cynical selling tactics to me.
''Almost to good to be true '' the .......your money back if no job.

they would never knock 40 people back, you didnt beat those people to the position, itss a selling technique.

how do you know there were 60 going for it? did you see all 60 or is that what they told you?

This course isn't worth it if you ask me. To be honest, I've give-up with Plumbing. I'm now applying for an apprenticeship at Bentley.

Go for it Jason, believe me if I had my time again, wouldnt have chosen plumbing ,thats the truth, easier ( physically ) and cleaner jobs to be had earning the same amount. If you get the job you'll be more respected than a hairy arsed plumber Good luck.
