Default Apprenticeships

Hi there guys.

I have just finished my 6129 in plumbing which was 2 days a week. The other 3 days a week i worked with a plumber.

He has been building his own house over the past 2 years and so we came to an agreement, i help him build his house and he will teach me plumbing.

Unfortunately there was more work at his house than there was actually plumbing. And so after 10 months i left and went back to cheffing this past week.

I have still been looking for apprenticeships in plumbing but to no avail.

Then the other day i was on this website that offered an apprenticeship in Refridgeration, heating and ventilation.

And am wondering if i should have taken this apprenticeship rather than carrying on looking for one in plumbing?

I am 30yrs old now and so no spring chicken.

What do you guys think?

cheers

i doubt anyone will give you an apprenticeship at 30 best to try and find another guy to learn and work alongside or go self employed and try to scratch a living ime afraid the shortage of plumbers has been greatly overhyped and as such there really is no shortage and so companys can pick the more experienced guys to work for them

hi mutley,

definetly worth investigating the other possibilities, check out the website, check out the independent feedback, make sure you dont get robbed.
at the end of the day you could be a posh plumber !!

good luck
