hi fuzzy,

i'm at btsc in manchester and the price for level 2 (8 modules) is 3850. this is a new price reduced from 4850.

level 3 and nvq assessments cost a further 2850 also reduced by a grand.

the training here is excellent. everybody has a full set of tools so no sharing!! and there is also an unlimited amount of materials ie copper pipe and lead, plastic pipe and all fittings etc. it may seem expensive but trust me this place is second to none. The amount of skills and knowledge you pick up in a short space of time is incomparable.

the class sizes are a maximum of 12 which ensures a good amount of quality instruction from your trainers.

hope this helps.

if in doubt go and visit your local centre

Definately need to look round cos ntps training (NTPS TRAINING LTD Plumbing, Electrical and Gas courses) is still cheaper

than 3850 for the complete 6129 not just 8 modules and you get a comprehensive tool kit

to keep not just for using while your training.

Hi, I applied online to BTSC while I was looking for apprenticeships a few days later a woman phoned me. Straight away the I thougth it was a bit fishy 'cos she made it sound like i would be privilage to learn there then she did a bit of a interview which I completely flopped, I couldnt answer any questions right or anything (was my mates bday the night before and we all got completley wasted. I had the biggest hangover ever and couldnt even think straight lol) but then to my suprise she offered me an interview.
I decided to do some research on BTSC and I stumbled across this forum. The woman made it sound like this was an apprenticship but now im not so sure. I have to go all the way to manchester. Its will cost me about £40 to get there but im not too sure if i want to go now. I notice they didnt metion prices on there website, I am 18 and would find it difficult to get that much money.
Could someone tell me that if you enroll do they have on site accomadation because I live quite far away from Manchester and traveling there all the time would cost a bomb. I dont know weather I shuld give these a try or applie to a local college. Whay do you guys think

My advice is to look for some cheap b&b or even better look for something more local to you to save yourself some cash.
College's are probably starting to get full and it'll take you around 2 - 3 years to complete level 2 in which you have to pay an enrolment fee every year (probably work out at around half what these private places like ntps training and btsc charge).
