    To be honnest if you had a cavity wall you could buy a transformer 230v ac to 12v dc and come from a socket and that would do the trick.

    Since you have a combi boiler you need a second generation stat.

    Nest comes with heat link which connects to the boiler and the thermostat which can be placed anywhere but the thermosta requires e 12vdc supply either from heat link or can be plugged into usb lead which comes with nest.

    It does make sense to me but you have not understood my post. You have T1 and T2 on heat link and stat now the heat link has transformer built in 240vac to 12vdc. So you would need2 cables from heat link to stat. Nest comes with usb charger but you need to buy a stand for it. Thanks

    Hello David, Im afraid you are not correct. T1 and T2 are used to supply the thermosatat from the reciver, thermostat requires a 12v dc to operate but the switching is between stat and reciever is carried wirelessly. For a combi boiler you woud a 2nd gen nest stat, a 3rd gen would work aswell...

    Mmm you know a thing or 2 young man. My floor downstairs is all wet underfloor heating 8 loops. Each loop is about 50 m long 16mm memory pipe and warms up in no time. This forum is bit luke sparkie forum alot of keyboard master but meet them on site not one says a thing. Im done thank you.
