Hmm. I don't seem to be able to find a Honeywell frost thermostat for a no-volt system. The Calorex units require no-volt switching and 2 wire connections. There's not much choice for this spec, I'm finding. Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks - I always wonder about control devices that cost under a tenner. I'll have a look at Honeywell, it'll save me a lot more than the cost of a couple of thermostats and maybe stop 'management' complaining about the electricity bills.
Sorry, this is a slightly unconventional question...
I have two wall-mounted Calorex dehumidifiers in my garage/workshop. These have fan heaters (2kw, I believe) built-in to them. The idea is to stop the dehumidifiers from freezing up. They were supplied with very cheap 2-wire thermostats...
I seem to remember there was some issue with the length of the flue to get high enough.
Engineer's coming on Monday, I can now see that it's the small air vent on top of the pump that's leaking. Don't know if the plastic cap should be screwed down tight? It's not at the moment.
Thanks guys, first pic shows the installation - the flue goes directly out of the wall on the left which is the boundary with next door. 20 yrs ago this was OK, now not, apparently.
The second pic shows the space above the boiler - the flue is directly below the first floor landing level shown...
I have a Vaillant Thermocompact boiler which is getting on for 20 years old, and yesterday the pump started leaking with a steady drip from the bottom of the housing. I have been advised that we can't fit a replacement boiler in this position in the house because of the flue exit on to next...
Thanks both, a bit of peace of mind's always helpful. We're needing a Megaflo service so I'll ask our independent guy to replace the PRV at some stage as it appears to have seized too. Hopefully he can re-orientate the new one so I can open the lever valve fully!
Our old mains water tap seized, so we had it replaced a couple of days ago. The original was brass, connected directly to the blue supply pipe, with a smaller outlet going to a pressure control valve with a pressure gauge. The replacement is as shown in the photo.
About 40 minutes after it was...
Thanks, that's helpful - but when it fails the pump motor runs for a short time (at the normal speed, but for a shorter time than usual). Whilst it's running there's a 'thump' and it just stops dead. The red LED comes on and stays on for the normal time, even though the (still full) cistern...
