I'd also suggest spirit of salts (HCL) but take precautions, ventilate the room and wear eye protectection, gloves, apron etc, also mitigate risks for kids and pets. If that doesn't move the stains in 15 mins of less then I suspect nothing will.
I saw in the news the latest craze in the UK is heat pumps for hot water and heating. I wondered if a heat pump installer in the UK needs an F-Gas qualification to do this type of installation in a domestic/commercial environment and to sign it off.
As above it's not advisable to do this unless you understand the risks involved.
Even if you do install the valve you're not going to be able to do anything constructive without a vacuum pump, refrigeration gauges, hoses, freon gas, charging scale etc. Just blindly putting gas into a system you...
Thanks for the info.
We have a small fabrication workshop that's set up to make stainless steel enclosures and have a pressbreak machine and programmable punch machine, we just don't have the tooling to do the swaging process for the punched hole to accept a waste fitting.
I'm looking for a hole cutter or hole punch that you would use to cut a hole in a stainless steel sink for the waste to install into. Standard hole punches between 40 and 100mm for use with a hydraulic hand tool are available but I need a punch that makes the recess as well or a separate...
Wow, spirit of salts is very strong and dangerous if not used correctly, I'm surprised it's even readily available in the UK. It will dissolve cement, concrete and brick and I'm guessing it might even attack the glaze if it was used too concentrated or left too long.
Do you have access to a clamp meter?
If you can beg, borrow or steal one for a few hours it will give you a definative answer.
It's a non-contact tester that measures current but you need to isolate the power whilst you clamp it around either the live wire or a neutral wire of the cable...
You get copper traps for refrigeration that look pretty similar. They come in imperial pipe sizes but the ends can be swaged. Not sure it's something a DIY'er could do though, more of a fabrication workshop job.
I recently discovered that where I am there's 2 types/grades of soil pipe, one is used above ground and one is for below ground. There's a substantial price difference between them as well. This might not be the case in the UK however.
