Hi, I retired at 50 from a job in the finance industry and took on some property development jobs. Whilst doing my previous career I worked with a friend in my spare time. He was a general builder but specifically a plumber and a carpenter and taught me a lot. His untimely death left me without a friend and a potential business partner. In recent years, I have been a full-time carer for my late mother and have now purchased a house needing full restoration in France. I do some seasonal work in France for UK holiday companies mainly driving and maintenance roles. I occasionally do some diy in UK by helping my children with projects in their homes. I find it useful to come on this site for help but usually find out what I need from previous threads. My house in France will be a bit of a challenge and of course I will need to do a bit of retooling as most pipe-work is 12,14 and 16mm not 15 and 22 as in UK.
