Just curious as to which method most people use when fitting compressed air lines?
We have always done it the old school way threading galv tube but have been told today our quote for a new factory was thousands more than a firm who priced the same job but using press fit.
My only dealing with...
All sorted now chaps.
As Gary said it was due to not having balanced supplies at the new shower and them clearly not fitting check valves. There was no way of me getting to any of the shower pipes so a 3bar pressure reducing valve on the incoming main has cured it.
No idea why the vessel...
It definitely wasn't taken off the same reducing valve that goes to the cylinder, so unless they installed a separate one (which I doubt) my guess is the mains cold water is pressurising the hot.
Never encountered it before.
At which point did I say I don't have the G3 qual? I do have the qualification and understand exactly how all the parts work. I have just never encountered this problem before so asked for advice, which I'm never too proud to do. Don't be so quick to judge chaps!
I think you may have nailed it...
I was at a job looking at an unrelated issue when the lady mentioned her blow off keeps running outside. Apparently the last plumber replaced expansion vessel(and checked the precharge was 3bar) on the cold feed into the cylinder, 3bar pressure reducing valve and 6bar blow off in the hope to...
Yeah it was a genuine question on my behalf!
I usually try to do everything by the book and in this case the book was a Delavan nozzle that I couldn't get my hands on that day. As it's a combi the customer wasn't too keen to wait another day for me to get it back running so hence the question...
Your correct, it is Ben :)
What change is it thats keeping the other oil guys away?
I couldn't get my hands on a Delavan nozzle locally so decided to call Mistral and ask if they can recommend a Danfoss alternative as then they can't use it as an excuse if like you say the boiler gives any...
Hi Gary, I'm good thanks, yourself? Yeah there's not been any cries for help lately........although you may have just cursed that!!! :p
The MIs don't state an alternative so I guess I should just stick to the Delavan W nozzle in this case. I only asked as I find Danfoss nozzles much easier to...
Its on an outdoor oil fired Mistral boiler with a Riello RDB1 burner. The recommended nozzle is Delavan .55/80 degree W
In the Danfoss conversion chart it shows Delavan W alternative as Danfoss B, but in the Riello manual for the burner it shows the alternative as Danfoss type H-S.
Any ideas?!
I take it they have included the non branded form for say Napit (or other organisations) registered engineers?
Oftec seem to be trying to be the gas safe of the oil world but without the same powers!
99% of plumbers I know install oil boilers themselves by the book and then pay a...

I see you can now buy non branded oftec CD10 forms via the Oftec website and they also come with Grant boilers.........but why?!
My understanding is you have to be Oftec registered to install oil boilers so why do they even give you the option to not use the Oftec books, as if your not...
Result :smile5:
I recently replaced a complete DV on a grant combi and also cleaned out the heat x, but still no hot water. A couple of calls to grant and one to my suppliers saw me stripping the new valve down to find it was assembled wrong!
I'm pretty certain it was my supplier at fault, not...
