Exclamation humour and help

I thought forums were places were you could find lots of help ?
Places that are full of positive thinking, i see both sides of the coin but surely people that want to become plumbers should be able to !!!
A bit of humour on here wouldn't go amiss either, what about a joke section ......

I agree and I don't think any of the more vocal time served gentlemen really want to deter everyone from their trade.

I believe the harsh replies and rebukes are borne of frustration. The tradesmen who are giving their advice have walked the walk, they know through experience that a short course is the wrong way to enter the industry but people refuse to accept the advice and instead throw childish accusations of suppression.
Imagine how frustrating it is when the people throwing these tantrums are the same people who are waiting for you to reply to a DIYer's query so they can learn from your hard won experience.

It's a sad testament to today's society that people believe they can buy a trade. You just can't.
They'll end up cutting their teeth out on the job, destroying people's property and doing sub par work until they work out the correct way of doing things. Many will probably never learn without a guiding hand and continue bad practices and giving the trade a bad name.
If that same person showed the commitment the trade deserves and learned through an apprenticeship that wouldn't happen.

Instead people will continue being ripped off by paying thousands just so they can call themselves a plumber even though they know no more that the average DIYer can learn from a book.
That's not my attempt at an insult, it's the truth, just open a Collins DIY book and see.
