I just return (free of charge of course) if they're not happy.

Apart from (when I was new) a radiator falling off a wall (BIG EMBARRASSING OOPS!!! ) and the odd small leak, it's never been an issue.

Just be conscientious and careful first time round and don't tackle anything more than you're comfortable with.

I will only guarantee anything if my parts are used which is three months, I have never had a problem with this

so there is no national standard to say you have to guarantee your work for x amount of time then?

In my terms and conditions I point out I will guarantee my workmanship for 12 months, if I've supplied the parts I will go back and replace foc, if they've supplied the parts all bets are off

Mark, if the parts you fit fail do you seek the cost of replacing from the maufacturer?

If any parts I fit fail, I give the manufacturers hell. Actually the only things I have had fail have been four Triton electric showers which all but one failed just after their warranties had run out. Hard luck from Triton, tried to sell me expensive parts. I'm NEVER buying Triton stuff again. Bristan on the other hand sent a replacement part free of charge even though the item was out of warranty. Tops!

Aqualisa and Mira are pretty good at giving the spares out too. I have had new cartridges from both FOC outside of warranties.
