Do what you usely do Big Hammer lol :)! is it proper Granite ? what about those diamond sets that drill ceramic tiles ?

All I know it' called granite transformation.
They lay it on top of existing worktops

Just googled the stuff to see what it is and they have stockists and showrooms with phone numbers, give a couple of them a call tomorrow and see what they say.

Agreed on diamond hole saw. I use these ones

Erbauer Diamond Tile Drill Bit 25 x 80mm

Very good for the money. Trouble is with the one above is they don’t last long! You might find you drill half the hole and it’s dead.

Those bits aren't the best quality that's true but are easily killed when pressing too hard and overheated so the diamond coating gets glazed, they can be redressed or at least partially so by using on something softer but then the OP only has to drill through 5 mm.

What do you use to guide them through?
Don't want them sliding all over thje worktop

You can start it by hand, use your spare hand as a guide, lightly hold around the bit (gloves), drilling slowely and gently to start, hold the drill at a slight angle so one edge bites. Don’t push down hard. Or you can buy the suction guide, but you may not have room for this up against the wall?

I used to regularly drill 6mm holes through granite using a standard drill bit. Never did 22mm but would have thought starting small and expanding up would Beno problem.

But avoid hammer :)
