got an open vented electric thermal store I want to convert the heating system to a sealed system due to pipework being above the F&E. boiler is in airing cupboard and pipes drop from loft to rads, the boiler is 9kw so I need a plate heat exchanger, was wondering if taking one from a Combi would work if somehow one had suitable connections, sure I have about 5 combis in my lock up.

Failing that, anyone recommend a reasonably priced PHE up to the job ?

No it won't sorry and bss do some very good boss branded ones

So you want to keep the thermal store open vented ?

The boiler needs to be open vented, I need to change the heating to sealed so seperarion with a PHE is required.

Kinda messed up on my design and was in sealed system auto pilot mode not realising it was an open vented thermal store, so system has major air issues now, hoping it's not gonna be too much of an expensive mistake, heating works just major gurgling at thermal store. Still money on the job for couple hundred to convert but hoping PhE is below ÂŁ150 lol

Easily last little one I got 50 kw was ÂŁ62 plus the cat

Glad to hear, was expecting Combi PHE prices lol. Last 80kw one I got was crazy money

How much I can get a 150 kw for round the 200 mark plus vat

It was a Worcester one, last year probably around 400-500, was from plumb center though and probably didn't have terms on commercial.

If their cheap then I'll just go to BSS and buy one, least they can assist with what adapators I need. Would hate to order online and it wasn't BS
