Hi everyone,
can anyone recommend a good BTU app. Tried a few. Does anybody rate or recommend any perticular apps?

Thanks again!

The Heat loss calculator from HHIC used to be good until they doubled the price over night. I asked them about this and they could not even be bothered to reply so Customer service is not that good.

Mr combi app
You can select the level of insulation and window area. It's a few quid, but good.

Hahha just got back into the game mate, thanks for the heads up!

Multiply Watts by 3.412142 to get to BTUs if you are old school

I have yet to trust an app for these calcs , in my experience they are way over sized , however I may just try the wrong ones .
Its the long way but I always feel its the best way, I do them long hand on a piece of paper just like we were shown at plumbing school .

Haha yes Alex definitely, thanks for your concern! Crazy to see how it has all increased!

Haha, yes mate! I was doing that other night. Then started browsing different apps. Times change and If we can save 35-40mins an evening after grafting all day, it's gotta be done :)

Apps. may be convenient for domestic, but when it comes to commercial, manual calcs. allow consideration of options and an understanding of the building, often eliminating the necessity for heating in areas of low fabric loss, provided volumes are incorporated for purpose of air change when sizing perimeter rads.
BTU is defined as energy required to heat mass of water by rise in temperature and for that purpose is, at times, convenient, with an easy conversion to Kw.
I've seen fingers press the wrong button too many times to fully trust an App.
Nonsense in = Nonsense out

Me too. Same with gas rating, using map and compass etc. Electronics are brilliant but if they fail, batteries run out etc then you're stuffed if you don't know the method...

Yes Shaun, Big slab of slate on the old hand cart and a hunk of engineers chalk in mi teeth.

I also have an abacus for more complicated calcs.

Still measuring in cubits too.
