No heating...

We have a Gloworm boiler and a Boilermate2000 up at the top of the house; a workman put a hole in a pipe today (tucked in the corner of the house no less) for hot water. This meant a good 90 minutes of the water going everywhere until it drained away.

Plumber arrived and fitted a compressor to the pipe, refilled system and all good to go; however no hot water or heating since, suspected air lock but went around bleeding radiators etc.

However no joy, then boiler tripped with fault code 5 - overheating? Needed a reset which I did; however still no heating.

The middle pump doesn't appear to be doing anything; I have had the front off, spun with screwdriver and all seems well. The temperature is low though on the system, only c. 29c?

Thermo is maximum but not doing anything, also no errors on panel. Boiler has just gone to f5 - trip out again....

It will be airlocked. Very difficult to assess without seeing. As it worked before, it should be an easy sort.
In this instance, you would be wise to get a local heating engineer out. You could fiddle for days.

In attempt to stop water leakage, were any valves closed that have yet to be open, and if gate valves , did spindle snap in closed position. Lack of circulation is cause of boiler lockout.
90 minutes of flooding indicates leak was on primary water. ie the water that is heated by boiler,passes through rads, and fills tank of boilermate to form heat store.
Hot water to taps is just extension of mains cold water that passes through coil in boilermate to warm up. Check F&E tank, top of boilermate, is filling with water and outlet not blocked.
Other than that a plumber familiar with boilermate required. Add at lest 2 litres of inhibitor.

Post above reminded me that the internal cold feed in these cylinders are prone to block.

How high should the tank be? It's at the line it should be according to the side of the top tank, do I put more in manually?

Where else would the valves be around the home? Not awaere of any changes.

In terms of the water, you are correct. It was hot water that came out.

Check F&E tank, top of boilermate, is filling with water and outlet not blocked.

The outlets block really easily on these!

Does the manufacturer have a helpline? Can you speak to them? Do you have a troubleshooting section in the boiler manual?

It's not a boiler mate.
It's a boilermate, think of it as a backwards cylinder.
I have cleaned the feed on these before with a drain snake ( stainless steel type) fit it onto a cordless drill and run it down the internal feed.
