Hello all.

This post is regarding the configuration of outlet pipes from an imperial gas meter both pipes are lead.
A 22mm and a 15mm pipe branching off from it. Something I havent seen before.

Has anyone seen this configuration before?

Why the main pipe and a branch off?

Is it best to replace for complete copper pipes?

It appears someone in the past has connected the lead outlet pipes to copper pipes.

As the house has 3 appliances situated in different locations and as far as I can see under the floor
boards the appliances are fed by copper pipes not lead.

Any tips would be welcome.

A lot depends on who you are and why you're asking the question, to be frank. Is there a leak? A smell of gas? Has someone told you that the lead pipes are a problem? If so, for what reason?

We can't give detailed, specific advice but in general terms we could steer you in the right direction, which may be to reassure you or to suggest you get a Gas Safe registered engineer in...

It appears someone in the past has connected the lead outlet pipes to copper pipes. Very common at one time, that'll be,, connected copper to existing lead.

I am Gas Safe registered. I uploaded my card front & back to the site moderators 3 weeks ago and the yellow badge hasnt been added to my profile.
