Hi My Vaillant boiler constantly show F83 and has done since installed 2.5 years ago. The installer seems unable to sort it. A vaillant engineer said the water is taking too long to transit because the radio control is too slow. Control now hard wired but problem remains. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I've just moved to a 4 bed detached house (2 bathrooms) built in 2005, in Bromsgrove (B60), with the original 15 year old set up of a Glowworm Micron 60FF regular boiler coupled to a Boilermate 2000 storage unit. The boiler itself is not very efficient and I'm just waiting for the...

Hi folks, About a month ago, I replaced my oil boiler/burner with a used one that is about a year old. All seemed to be well after it was replaced however, within a week or two, the whole system has started losing pressure - approximately 0.2 bar every 2-3 hours. It seemed to happen a week or...

I have a single pipe system in a large-ish 1930s house and, guess what: the radiators at the end of the run don't get as hot as those at the start of the run. It has been so cold recently that I wondered if I could do something fairly simple to get them hotter. Has anyone tried any of these...

TL;DR: Office workers should not be allowed spanners. Just bought a house and found the living room wasn't getting much above 15 degrees. It had a type 11 1400x600 radiator that seem to be about 3,500BTU but online room BTU calculators come out at about 8,000 to 11,000. Bought what I thought...

We have a Glowworm BBU56F (back boiler). Its well-maintained/serviced and since we’ve been in the property (15 years) only the Thermocouple was replaced in July of this year, otherwise has been running fine. We’ve not had heating/hot water for a month now, and with 2 young kids/unwell missus...

The thermostat is not showing a display even after new batteries are inserted. I've tried poutting the batteries in for five secs in reverse polarity as suggested online. Nothing. Heating does not come on unless I press the Override button, on the wall-mounted display by the boiler. Does the...

I have a Glow.Worm 30HXI boiler running on LPG. It has been excellent and no apparent problems or fault codes. Currently not running heating; just used to heat up water for an hour, a couple of times a day. I noticed a bit of a gas smell from the external vent and the boiler firing up and then...

A simple question, but so far I've not found a definitive answer:- Some older boilers use a thermostatically controlled pump overrun switch built into the boiler thermostat. They are generally factory set and not adjustable. At what temperature should it switch? I'm specifically referring to...

Hello everyone, I've got a few issues with my boiler. It's BAXI platinum 24 combi. 1. Occasionally when it fires up it does it with a big loud bang (explosive ignition?) From what I've noticed it usually happens when central heating starts up, doesn't happen with hot water (or it's just...

Whilst filling out the new benchmark during the commissioning of a boiler I noticed on the servicing section that there is now a requirement to annually test the concentration of the inhibitor in the system. Why is fairly obvious, but it’s more the real world how? Great if you fitted the...

About 4 weeks ago my nest stopped being able to turn on or off the central heating on my glow worm 38cxi. As the boiler looked otherwise fine I figured it was the nest heatlink itself which has been working fine for 3 years. I managed to organise a replacement heatlink from Google but on...

Live monitor is giving me status code S46 (Comfort Protection minimum load loss of flame). Symptoms are boiler taking longer to come on and takes longer to heat rads, although it gets there in the end. Flame is lower on symbol and boiler quieter than it was. Anyone got an idea of why the...

Hi, I have an issue of the radiators. When the boiler starts to work, all house radiators start to get hot, but after about 30-40 mins, there are upstairs 3 or 4 radiators are getting cool down (maybe because the house temperature reaches the set temperature?), but others are still warm/hot...
