Default Gas portfolio work wanted

Qualifed plumber, living in East Sussex. Have completed all the standard plumbing qualifications and am currently doing level 3 course/ACS. (Half way through)
Have worked with Corgi plumber for last 3 years but the more and more I learn about procedures, testing of appliances, efficient gas safety checks etc, the more I realise the guy I work though very nice isn't doing what he should. I need to build up a gas portfolio to one day become Corgi/Capita registered, and so am seeking to work alongside anyone suitable to work with.
He isn't bothered about any of my training at all, only I feel what he get out of me for a small price. Others on my level 3 course, with little or no experience seem to be getting paid a lot more than me. I don't mind lowish pay, but expect relevant training in return to be fair - not being left on say a bathroom job whilst he goes to fit a cooker or other gas related item!

Any potential people I'd be most pleased to hear from, or any suggestions how I could find somebody to work with.
