    Default VRT 360 Wireless Thermostat

Hi, we have a Valiant Boiler that is just over 2 years old and have the wireless thermostat positioned in the hall. This has always worked fine up until early this year when we noticed that the AAA Batteries needed changing. We changed them over and a month later they needed replacing. We then bought duracel batteries to last longer, but now they need changing every two to three weeks and we don't even have the heating on! We tried buying new batteries from different packs but since May i would say we have have had to change the batteries five times - surely this can't be right? When we looked up trouble shooting, the manual just says 'change batteries'. Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks, Lucy

Sounds to me that the wireless thermostat is faulty & destroying the batteries. Seen this happening with back up batteries in a programmer which had to be replaced. Some others may have more experience of this.

Thanks - i think we might be looking for a replacement thermostat then! I have just looked to see if it is still under warrently but actually the boiler is just over 3 years old so I doubt it now. Oh well, least its not cold so I have some time to sort out!

Seems the most logical problem, but I have never seen this, except with a programmer. Some of the sparks on the Elecricians forum may also help advise.
