    Default unvented tank position question

hello i am looking to replace my boiler and i have a question about where i can put my unvented cylinder

it is a vented system. i want og go for an unvented system. I see that glow worm has a flue that is in the back of the boiler, thus maybe i can use the exisitng flue ,, is that doable ? i assume the cyclinder has to be on the floor or are there brackets which enable them to be bolted to the wall.

basically can i have the boiler beneath the unveted cyclinder ?

    thanks

ps has anyone used the energy catcher by raven heat ? or the baxi flue heat capture product

Everything can go anywhere that the MI's say can be done. Does that help?

There's a lot of weight in a cylinder full of water so you'd need a really substantial bracket.

it is not really very clear exactly what you are asking here.
are you replacing your boiler and hot water cylinder both to unvented or are you meaning just a change of boiler to a sealed system?
can the HW cylinder not stay were it is?
if the existing flue is "in the back of the boiler" as in a natural draught balanced flue, then no you cant reuse it.
with clearer wording in the question and possibly some pictures it would be easier to give direction.
but really you need to get some one to call round to advise you

Lol imagine that! A unvented cylinder floating off the floor on brackets .... Some people are crazy what they come out of, no disrespect to the person asking. Just makes you laugh, its like having a large bath floating off a floor and BOLTED to walls XD

you maybe able to use the same hole but not the same flue system. the cylinder can go anywhere you want providing its suitable for your discharge pipework runs and the floor can take the weight.... you wont bolt one to the wall, a 210ltr cylinder weighs around 1/4 of a metric tonne. you will also need a min of 20ltr per min on the cold supply and around 1.5bar - 2bar water pressure.

i would speak to a good local gas safe engineer and a g3 qualifed plumber for some quotes.

    welcome to the forum.

Nothing hard about sitting a cylinder up on the wall, perfectly safe. Many 100's of 000's were fitted that way in the past.
